Japanese Official States No Decision on Consumption Tax Rate for Food Items

Regarding the treatment of consumption tax on food items, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Ozaki stated that no direction, including the tax rate, has been decided at this time. Discussions are currently underway in a working group of a bipartisan 'National Council'.
