Friendly fire downs US F-15s in Kuwait; Israel launches strikes on Lebanon

Three United States F-15 fighter jets crashed in Kuwait during combat operations linked to the war with Iran, after Kuwaiti air defences shot them down in what Washington described as a friendly fire incident. The crashes came as fighting spread across the Gulf and Lebanon, with fresh strikes reported in Tehran and Beirut and more than 555 people reported killed in Iran since Saturday.
