Green India Mission Falls Short by 98% in Increasing Forest Cover, CAG Reports

A new report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reveals that the Green India Mission achieved only 0.03 million hectares of increased forest cover against a target of 1.4 million hectares between 2015-16 and 2024-25, marking a 97.57% shortfall.
