Ghana Government Proposes Major Constitutional Reforms

The Ghanaian government has proposed significant constitutional reforms, including separating the Attorney-General's Office from the Ministry of Justice, setting a 10-year fixed term for the Chief Justice, and capping the Supreme Court at 19 members. Other proposals include a 35-year minimum age for presidential candidates, a five-year term for presidential and parliamentary offices, and a 300-seat Parliament with reserved representation for women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
