Kirkuk governor resigns, paving way for Turkmen leadership

In a session of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, Governor Rebwar Taha, who is affiliated with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), resigned, leading to the return of the Kirkuk governorate to Turkmen leadership after 102 years.
