Japan's LDP Approves Imperial House Law Amendment for Imperial Family Members

Japan's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) approved a draft amendment to the Imperial House Law during an extraordinary general meeting today, June 29. The amendment aims to secure the number of imperial family members by allowing female imperial family members to remain in the imperial family after marriage and by adopting male descendants from former imperial families.
