Italy: 25-year-old who traveled on the same flight as a patient, shows hantavirus symptoms

A 25-year-old man from Calabria, who was on the KLM flight with a South African woman who later died of hantavirus, is reportedly showing symptoms. The man, who had recently returned from a trip to South Africa, was admitted to the Ionian hospital in Taranto. Health officials are monitoring the situation and have initiated contact tracing for anyone who may have been in close contact with the patient.
