Church Tower in Borovany Receives New Wooden Dome

The tower of the 15th-century Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Borovany, near České Budějovice, has been fitted with a new wooden dome, continuing the restoration of the cultural monument's roof structure using traditional carpentry methods.

Věž kostela v Borovanech u Českých Budějovic má od středy novou dřevěnou báň. Pokračuje tak obnova krovu kostela Navštívení Panny Marie z 15. století, který je kulturní památkou. Při konstrukci báně použili řemeslníci tradiční tesařské postupy, ale neobešli se ani bez pomoci současné techniky.
