Ve Francii strávilo kvůli poruše 841 cestujících noc ve dvou rychlovlacích TGV na trase z Paříže do Lyonu. Rychlovlaky společnosti Trenitalia v pátek večer vyrazily z metropole, načež uvízly na trati. V cestě mohly pokračovat až v sobotu kolem půl desáté ráno.
