Six tourists fined for dawn dip in Rome fountain

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 9 - Six tourists were fined a total of 3,300 euros for taking a dip at dawn Thursday in one of Rome's monumental fountains. Two Australians aged 19, two 18-year-old Americans, a 43-year-old Dubai native and a 27-year-old Italian were stopped by police after bathing in the basin of the fountain in Piazza Sant'Andrea Della Valle, outside the church that forms one of the locales for the Puccini opera Tosca.
