Proailurus Identified as Earliest True Cat from 30 Million Years Ago
Scientists have identified Proailurus, an agile tree-climbing predator from 30 million years ago, as the earliest true cat. Weighing between seven to ten kilograms, this ancient feline is considered the ancestor of various modern cat species.
