Indian Government Seeks Supreme Court Approval for Retired Judges to Hear Water Dispute Cases
The Union government has approached the Supreme Court, requesting a 'purposive' interpretation of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act, 1956, to allow retired Supreme Court and high court judges to adjudicate fresh cases in existing water tribunals.
