Athletes won't bear flags at Paralympics opening ceremony
(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 4 - No athlete will carry their country's flag at Friday's opening ceremony of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympics at the Verona Arena, ANSA has learned. Ukraine and seven other countries were already set to boycott the ceremony in protest at the International Paralympic Committee's (IPC) decision to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under their national flags and the war in Iran has further complicated the situation.
