Samyang Group said Friday that it has decided to fully take over a Japanese manufacturer of flavors, fragrances and fine chemicals for 390 billion won (US$259 million). Samyang whose business portfolio ranges from food and chemicals to bio and packaging, said its purchase of Soda Co. will help expand its business lineup. Founded in 1915, Soda Aromatic has production facilities in five countries, including China and Taiwan, and supplies its products to some 1,000 companies.
