Africans Recruited to Fight for Russia on Ukrainian Front

A New York Times report details stories of Africans, like James Kamau Ndungu, who were promised work in Russia but ended up being coerced into fighting on the Ukrainian front. Ndungu recounted being beaten by Russians after losing his weapon in a trench.
