Global oil prices rose sharply on Monday and European equities fell as the regional conflict intensified, following attacks on vessels near the Strait of Hormuz and Iranian warnings to shipping in a chokepoint through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil and gas trade moves.

Angriff auf Iran lässt Energiepreise steigen

Nach dem Angriff Israels und der USA auf den Iran ist der Großhandelspreis von Erdgas kräftig gestiegen. Der Preis betrug am Montag zu Handelsbeginn etwa 25 Prozent mehr als am Freitag, es war der stärkste Preissprung seit August 2023. Auch die Ölpreise legten am Montag zu. Fachleute gehen von einem weiteren Anstieg der Energiepreise aus, denn der Iran schränkte den Schiffsverkehr durch die Straße von Hormus ein. Die OMV sieht unterdessen die Energieversorgung in Österreich als gesichert an.
