My 14-year-old son wants to study abroad. He may be ready — but I'm not.

He has a list of places he wants to go, and talks about studying abroad. I have a hard time thinking about letting go, but I'll support what he wants to do. When my youngest son was little, I called him my "koala baby." He wanted to be carried on my hip at all times and would tuck his head into my neck to hide whenever he was in an unfamiliar environment....
