NATO's new Forward Land Forces Finland, known as FLF Finland, formation will officially begin operations on Saturday, marking a new phase in the alliance's military presence in Northern Europe and strengthening defence cooperation between Finland, Sweden and other allied nations. The new force combines a Swedish battlegroup based in Boden, northern Sweden, with a multinational command element located in Rovaniemi in northern Finland.
