Uoči Ivanjdana, koji se obeležava 7. jula, širom Srbije na pijacama i pored seoskih puteva mogu se videti žene koje prodaju male venčiće ispletene od žutog ivanjskog cveća, lekovitog bilja i poljskih trava. Mnogi ih kupuju po navici, kače iznad ulaznih vrata ili na kapije, verujući da će tokom narednih godinu dana čuvati dom i ukućane.
