Latvian Agency Warns of Passport Delays Without Online Voter Register

The head of Latvia's Citizenship and Migration Affairs Office (PMLP) has warned that the agency may not be able to issue free passports in time for elections. This delay is contingent on the absence of an online voter register.

Ja 15. Saeimas vēlēšanās tomēr nebūtu pieejams elektroniskais tiešsaistes vēlētāju reģistrs (ETVR), viens no scenārijiem būtu izsniegt bezmaksas pases tiem, kam to nav. Tomēr Pilsonības un migrācijas lietu pārvalde (PMLP) atzīst – to nav iespējams paspēt vairs izdarīt.
