India to Remove AFSPA from Most of Northeast by 2027, Says Amit Shah

Union Minister Amit Shah announced that the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) will be removed from most of India's Northeast region by 2027. Shah stated that the signing of a recent MoU was a 'historic moment' that removed the last hurdle in Prime Minister Modi's vision for a developed Northeast.
