Soccer: Bastoni says sorry for diving, celebrating Kalulu red

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 17 - Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni on Tuesday apologised publicly for celebrating after diving and getting Juve opponent Pierre Kalulu red-carded in an incident that has caused a huge row after the Derby of Italy ended 3-2 in Inter's favour Saturday night. Italy centre back Bastoni told Sky he had "accentuated" the non-existent brush with the France defender and "what happened afterwards was even worse" when he erupted in a celebration that spurred calls for him to be dropped by the Azzurri. The incident has also prompted soccer authorities to say they will seek to have VAR rules changed so the system can assess second yellow cards, as in Kalulu's case, and not just straight reds.
