UPI Payments to Remain Free for Consumers and Small Merchants in India

India's Payments Council has confirmed that UPI (Unified Payments Interface) transactions will continue to be free for consumers and small merchants, following a Lok Sabha Bill that authorized the government to permit charges on UPI payments.
