Din cauza cotelor extrem de scăzute din luna iulie, apropiate de minimul istoric, navele care tranzitează Dunărea merg şi pe jumătate goale, pentru a-şi menţine capacitatea de plutire. Cele mai mari probleme sunt pe sectorul fluvial, unde nu-şi pot descărca nici marfa în unele porturi.
