China: 14-year-old sentenced to life for rape and murder of classmate

A 14-year-old boy has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of his 15-year-old classmate. The Qujing Intermediate People’s Court found the defendant, identified as Jiang, guilty of rape and intentional homicide. The court deemed the case "extremely serious" but could not impose the death penalty as Jiang was under 18 at the time of the incident.
