France's Macron calls for de-escalation in Middle East conflict

French president Emmanuel Macron on Friday called for de-escalation of the three-week long conflict in the Middle East as France and five other countries said they were ready to contribute to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
