Avdo nije sišao s kreveta, nije jeo i nije pričao s drugovima koji su ga povremeno obilazili. Bio je jedini koji je toliko godina ležao u zatvoru bez posetilaca, pa su ga zbog toga sažaljevali poznati ankarski grubijani iz sedmog odeljenja, te su mu iz poštovanja zbog smrtne presude povremeno slali pozdrave i poklone za njegovo odeljenje.
