Moretti goes to prison for Viareggio train disaster

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 26 - Former Italian rail chief Mauro Moretti turned himself in Thursday night to serve five years in jail for the June 29, 2009 Viareggio train disaster that killed 32 people, after the final terms in the case became definitive. The judges of the Fourth Criminal Section of the Supreme Court of Cassation rejected the appeals and upheld the five-year sentences for former CEO of Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) and RFI Moretti and another 10 defendants.
