Baja California Sur restricts live cattle imports to combat screwworm outbreak
Mexican agricultural authorities have halted the entry of live livestock into Baja California Sur to prevent the spread of the destructive screwworm parasite. While meat imports remain open to ensure food supply stability, preventive technical measures were initiated as early as 2024.
