Bank of Portugal Reports 45% Increase in Illicit Financial Activities
The Bank of Portugal investigated 479 illicit financial activities in 2025, marking a 45% increase compared to the previous year, with over half of these cases involving fraudulent schemes. Twenty-five cases were forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office for further action.
