Mumbai, Consul General Ferrara celebrates Made in Italy in fashion and design
(ANSA) - NEW DELHI, 14 FEB - The Consulate General of Italy in Mumbai celebrated the excellence of Made in Italy in the fashion and design sectors with an event hosted at the Poltrona Frau headquarters, in the heart of the cultural district of India's financial capital. The initiative saw the presentation of the "Gate to India" collection by designer Elio Ferraro, the result of the stylist's collaboration with Indian partner Kaysons. Inspired by India's artisan heritage, the collection is a meeting of Italian sartorial talent with the experience of entire generations of artisans, masters in the art of fabric processing. "This event embodies the very essence of our diplomatic mission: to build bridges that foster a shared vision and a common understanding in every area of bilateral cooperation," said the Consul General of Italy in Mumbai, Walter Ferrara.
"When Elio Ferraro's Sicilian spirit dialogues with Indian master weavers, we see more than a collection; we witness the future of Indo-Italian relations," continued the Consul. "A future built on mutual respect, curiosity, and the unequivocal truth that our hands, when working together, can create beauty that speaks a universal language. In this context," added Ferrara, "Italian excellence—rooted in history but projected toward the future—has found a natural harmony with Mumbai, a city characterized by extraordinary creative energy and a deep respect for craftsmanship. This is further confirmation of the role of creativity as a tool for building lasting relationships based on openness, curiosity, and mutual respect," concluded the Consul.
