Sausio 13-ąją žmonės stovėjo prieš sovietinius tankus neginkluoti, vedini aiškaus ir tvirto apsisprendimo gyventi laisvoje, demokratiškoje valstybėje. Jie norėjo patys tvarkytis savo namuose, patys spręsti, kaip gyventi, ir neleisti, kad kažkas už juos nurodinėtų, kas teisinga, o kas – ne.
