An American submarine sank an Iranian warship off the southern coast of Sri Lanka – two thousand miles from the Persian Gulf – the U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reported on Wednesday.

Americká ponorka potopila u jižního pobřeží Srí Lanky – dva tisíce mil od Perského zálivu – íránskou válečnou loď, informoval ve středu americký ministr obrany Pete Hegseth. Zahynuly při tom desítky námořníků. Srílanské úřady identifikovaly válečnou loď jako fregatu IRIS Dena. Íránci vzkázali, že incidentu budou Američané „hořce litovat“.
