V Česku nyní žije 1158 lidí, kterým je sto a více let. Nejčastěji bydlí v Praze a Jihomoravském kraji, převažují ženy. Vyplývá to z aktuálních dat České správy sociálního zabezpečení (ČSSZ), které má Radiožurnál a server iROZHLAS.cz k dispozici. Za posledních 10 let se počet stoletých a starších seniorů a seniorek téměř zdvojnásobil.
