Czech Customs Officials Collect Millions Using New Power to Seize Debtors' Property

Czech customs officials have begun using a new legal power, effective since last July, to seize property like cars and electronics from individuals owing money to the state, having already collected three million crowns.

Celníci začali zabavovat věci lidem, kteří dluží peníze státu. Odebrat auto nebo elektroniku například při silniční kontrole jim umožňuje novela zákona. Sice platí od loňského července, ale kvůli chybějící metodice celníci využívají tuto možnost teprve od nového roku. Řidiče kontrolovali například na dálnici D8 nedaleko Klíčan u Prahy.
