UK Extends Time for Victims to Challenge Lenient Sentences
Victims and bereaved families in the UK will now be given six months, instead of the previous 28 days, to challenge "unduly lenient" sentences handed to criminals. Justice Secretary David Lammy stated that the change acknowledges the difficulty for those affected to engage with the justice system within the existing timeframe.
