Waited over 5 years for electricity connection, consumer wins Rs 40,000 compensation

The Delhi consumer commission found BSES Rajdhani Power guilty of service deficiency. The power company took over five years to provide an electricity connection. BSES could not prove it informed the consumer about application discrepancies. The commission upheld compensation and litigation costs awarded by the district forum. BSES must pay the awarded amount within forty-five days.
