Croatia braces for extreme heat, red alert issued

Croatia is preparing for a period of intense heat with temperatures expected to reach 38°C, prompting a red alert in two regions. The national meteorological service warns that the worst is yet to come, with only a slight chance of isolated afternoon showers.
