Czech Constitutional Court Upholds 17-Year Sentence for Child's Killing

The Czech Constitutional Court rejected Michal Pokuta's appeal, upholding his 17-year prison sentence for killing a four-year-old child in Most, whom he accidentally stabbed while aiming for the child's father during a conflict.

Ústavní soud (ÚS) odmítl stížnost Michala Pokuty, jenž si tak s konečnou platností odpyká 17 let ve vězení za usmrcení čtyřletého dítěte v Mostě. Dítě držel v náručí jeho italský otec, se kterým měl Pokuta konflikt. Chtěl bodnout Itala, zasáhl však dítě. ÚS dospěl k závěru, že ústavní stížnost je zjevně neopodstatněná, stojí v usnesení.
