Czech Scientists Launch Project to Save Endangered Ice Age Plant

Czech scientists have initiated an international project to rescue the critically endangered cornflower, a plant species from the Ice Age. This plant is currently found in only a few locations across the Czech Republic and Germany within the European Union.

Čeští vědci spustili mezinárodní projekt na záchranu kriticky ohroženého sinokvětu chrpovitého. Rostlina, která je pozůstatkem doby ledové, se dnes v celé Evropské unii vyskytuje jen na několika místech v Česku a v Německu, souvislejší populace rostou až na Ukrajině. Právě odborníci z těchto zemí spolupracují na projektu nazvaném LIFE for Jurinea.
