Average interest rate on new mortgages close to 4% in May - Bank of Italy

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 9 - The average APR interest rate Italian banks put on new mortgages rose to 3.96% in May, up from 3.91% in April, the Bank of Italy said on Thursday. The central bank said the average APR for consumer credit fell slightly to 10.37% from 10.41% the previous month.
