EU Mandates USB-C for New Laptops and Portable Devices

A European Union directive, effective December 2024, requires most new portable electronic devices, including laptops, sold in the EU to feature a standardized USB-C connector. This extends the universal charger initiative.

Direktiva Evropske unije o univerzalnim punjačima stupila je na snagu još u decembru 2024. godine i zahtijeva da većina novih prenosivih elektronskih uređaja bude isporučena sa standardiziranim USB-C konektorom. Tada je Evropska komisija produžila prijelazni rok za proizvođače laptopa za dodatnih 16 mjeseci, a period odgode je zvanično istekao 28. aprila.
