Pakistan Court Rules Dower Payable Without Consummation

The Lahore High Court has ruled that dower is payable to a wife even without rukhsati or consummation of marriage. In khula cases, the wife is only required to return 25% of the dower, and the full amount is due immediately if the Nikahnama does not specify a payment timeline.
