11 cities set to go on red alert as Italy's 4th heatwave of year takes grip

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 30 - Italy's fourth heatwave is the year is taking grip and the number of major cities put on on red alert by the health ministry because of the soaring temperatures is set to rise from three on Thursday to 11 on Friday. Bolzano, Civitavecchia, Florence, Frosinone, Latina, Rome, Turin and Viterbo will join Campobasso, Perugia, and Rieti on maximum alert with temperatures forecast to hit the 40° mark in some areas.
