US Pays Highest Yield on 30-Year Debt in Quarter of a Century
Patrick McHenry, former Republican congressman from North Carolina and former House Financial Services Committee chairman, said that Thursday's bond sale is a 'wake up sign' for the country on government debt and deficit, as the US government sold 30-year bonds at the highest rate since 2001. McHenry said that it is time for the government to take action on overspending, but that change has to begin with the American people raising the issue. (Source: Bloomberg)
