The Danube River has reached its lowest water levels in 50 years in parts of Serbia and a historic low in Budapest, Hungary. Emergency measures have been implemented in some areas as the drought impacts navigation and local ecosystems.

Due to the prolonged lack of rainfall and the increasingly frequent heat waves, record-low water levels were measured on the Danube near Budapest this week. Telex photographers captured the unusual sights around the river.
