‚I’ve come to do what I promised.‘ More women are murdered worldwide, yet Czechia collects no femicide data

Most murders of women in the Czech Republic are committed by their partners or former partners. However, official statistics do not track the motives or context of these crimes. The data journalism team at iROZHLAS.cz therefore analysed over 100 court rulings to characterise the typical course of these crimes. According to experts, the lack of reliable data and inadequate legislation are the primary reasons these tragedies cannot be prevented.
