Dutch Authorities Investigate Illegal Transport of Heavily Pregnant Cows to Slaughter

The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) is investigating the continued illegal transport of heavily pregnant dairy cows to slaughterhouses in the Netherlands, a practice prohibited by law. This comes after figures were requested by the activist group Wakker Dier.

In Nederland worden nog altijd hoogdrachtige melkkoeien vervoerd naar de slacht, terwijl dit verboden is. Dat blijkt uit cijfers van de Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA), die door actiegroep Wakker Dier zijn opgevraagd.
