In de provincie Utrecht is iemand overleden aan de gevolgen van het westnijlvirus. Diegene had het virus in Nederland opgelopen en is gestorven in het ziekenhuis. Dat meldt het RIVM. Vorige week werd het virus voor het eerst sinds 2020 aangetroffen in Nederland. Dat gebeurde bij een bloeddonor in de provincie Utrecht die niet recent in het buitenland was geweest.
