Palanga's beaches in Lithuania are experiencing significant erosion, with plans to replenish them with sand from the seabed and construct breakwaters in Šventoji within the next few years to mitigate the issue.

Iš jūros dugno iškastu smėliu ruošiamasi pildyti vis siaurėjančius Palangos paplūdimius. Tiesa, dar negreitai – po 2-3 metų. Tikimasi, kad smėlį paplūdimiuose ateityje padės sulaikyti ir Šventosios molai, kurių statybą viliamasi pradėti dar šiemet.
